This week Australian Alexis Fleming is out on the Cyber Circuit. She says she’s one of those strange people who live inside their mind. No, she doesn’t hear little voices… Well, she does, just not the type you’re thinking of. Alexis’ world is peopled with interesting characters and exciting possibilities that come to life in each and every book she writes. Her first love has always been romance, whether on this world or the next. Hot, sizzling relationships with a dash of comedy and a few trials and tribulations thrown in to test her characters.

When she’s not tied to her computer creating sizzling stories to tempt her readers, she helps run a busy motel set on the edge of a national marine park in Australia. What better place to get inspiration for the tales she turns out? A glorious sunset over the ocean, dolphins playing almost in her front yard, suntanned bodies lazing on the sand… How could she not get caught up in the eroticism of that?Alexis has a new release, coauthored with MOI, called PANDEMONIUM.

Here’s the blurb:

The love doctor is in…but can he take a dose of his own medicine?

Pan, the Arcadian god of lust and magic, has had enough of his restricted existence hidden away on Arcadia. When Cupid, the Greek god of love, suggests he live on Earth, Pan decides to give it a go.

Pan establishes himself as the luuuuuv doctor and announcer for a nighttime romantic music slot with a local radio station. He plays his pan-pipes, enthralling all who listen. Cupid warns Pan that his days of playing fast and loose with women’s emotions are numbered. Sure enough, Pan meets Kris, the woman who takes him to task. The leather-wearing, Harley-riding, hard-ass psychologist has her own agenda, and it doesn’t include him. Before he knows what’s happening, she has turned the table on the god, and he’s smitten.

Kris is exactly the right medication, the perfect dose for the nomadic God of Lust, who has finally found a love of his own.

To read an excerpt go here.

I'm re-reading the interview questions she did with the Cyber Tour group and nodding and laughing. Here's one:

In which of your books is the heroine most like yourself?

I hate to admit it but I think there’s a little bit of me in every book I write. (Sunny sits here nodding, yep, yep.) I guess it comes back to that ‘write what you know’ thing. I pull on situations I’ve been in or emotions I’ve experienced to flesh out my characters. Not consciously, but when I read over what I’ve written, I’m able to track it back to something that has happened in my life.

Then there’s the fact that most of my heroines are quirky, weird, irreverent, sassy-mouthed, fiercely loyal, and just plain crazy at times. Lol Guess you could say that’s me to a large degree. (Now I'm cracking up - LOL - Lex is wildly quirky, sassy, and always up for fun - and she is indeed fiercely loyal.)

What is the strangest thing anyone has said to you about your writing?

Being accused of selling porn along with the bacon and eggs.We had an old lady staying here, and once I’d been outed as the Motelier who wrote “dirty” books (the journalist’s words, not mine), my hubby started putting one of my bookmarks on the breakfasts trays before they went out. This old dear ate her breakfast, which I had cook with my loving hands, and then checked out. The next thing I knew, the police were coming to call. She’d reported me for selling porn. Lol - The police officer about cracked it when he realized what it was all about. In fact, he wanted to buy a couple of my books for his wife.

Now I ask you, dear readers...who WOULDN'T enjoy this woman's friendship and want to read one of her books????

Buy the book here.

You want the truth?

All is well, but this is what's been going on just this past week.

Father's Day fell on what would have been my brother's birthday - well, I suppose it still was, even though he's not here. Needless to say, it was rather rough on the family.

I was diagonosed with diverticulitis, colitis and a few other things, salmonella poisoning - yes, the tomato thing. I didn't have to go on IVs, but I did get to say "ah" at both ends and manage to get sunburned somehow. I'm on 3 don't-let-me-barf pills so that I can handle the 5 strong antibiotics that do just that. But...only for 3 more days. Color me happy.

Then sad.

My next door neighbor died - the one who played in bands with Billie Holliday, John Coltrane, and Miles Davis. His wife was en route back from Thailand and had to be greeted at the airport with the news since nobody could reach her prior to that.

Think Wisteria Lane and "Desperate Housewives". Cue the sweet music, then see the drama. I haven't been able to do much, but I'm still bossy, so I managed to get men from the area to take care of the new widow's lawn. Then (there's always 1 butthead in every community) another guy comes home drunk and abusive - HIS next door neighbor has a severe and lively come-to-Jesus meeting with him over the backyard fence. Nobody got arrested, but it was pretty interesting.

My cute guy neighbor mentioned to another neighbor that he'd like to read one of my books, so she takes him 2 or 3 of them - he has a Bible sitting on his next-to-the-door table, and one of the books she gave him was "Just Desserts". Cue the embarrassment. But guess what? His mother visited him and asked to read the dirty one - lol.

Enough with the neighbors. Back to family. Son is getting married in less than 24 hours - and daughter-in-law-2-be's family arrived Wednesday. We've had a wonderful visit. The girls all got pedicures and fraps today - the guys got beer & chips and played their guitars while the dogs sang.

One of my email accounts has locked up for some weird reason. One of my editors has disappeared - well, *I* haven't heard from him in a month - let's put it that way - and I had edits due the 3rd week of May.

I finally joined My Space dot com - my URL = http://www.myspace.com/author_bobbie_cole. Don't be shocked if you visit to see my mood listed as blessed. I meant it. Despite everything.

One of my publishers wrote and said that all I needed for drama this week was for a Midwestern tornado to hit the car and for a meteorite to land on the house.

Photos forthcoming if I learn how to work the new digi camera between now (nearly 2 am) and time for the wedding. Photos of the wedding or reception, people, not the meteorite or tornado. Knock wood.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND. I MEAN IT.

hugs,
Sunny Lyn

Feelin' Girlie

It's always waiting on us, whether we're sick or not.

LAUNDRY! - ugh. Good thing I don't mind it.

Lots of small blessings, though. Honeysuckle in the backyard, for one. How do you describe this scent to someone who has never smelled it? For me it's like drinking lemonade and feeling a soft breeze against your bare skin.

Not that I've ever sat on the patio naked, drinking lemonade. No, not me.

Something my son did for me while I've been sick. When I was able to stay up and travel a short distance, he paid for me a pedicure and manicure - the works.

Pedicure. A good example of bliss.

Nothing like feeling girlie.

All is well.

Sins & Redemption

Oh Yum! - Sins & Redemption
by Lyn Cash

At forty-five, Layla's been through her share of relationships — some of them decent, others despicable — and she lends her expertise on the subject to her weekly magazine column. Her most recent article, "Sexual Sins", outlines the seven deadly sins men commit in sexual relationships. But now, Layla has a contender—some wise-ass kid reporter has written a list of his own.Patrick hopes his article, "Sexual Redemption", will make a splash and land him a regular magazine gig.

He also hopes it will prove to women that men, especially twenty-somethings like himself, are not all total sinners. But when he comes face-to-face with the infamous "Mama Lay", as she's known in the office, Patrick realizes that in addition to her age and wisdom, Layla has another secret weapon — her overwhelming sexiness.

Not one to be outdone, Patrick decides he'll try out his own advice in his effort to seduce Layla. And Layla is ready to see if this young, handsome hotshot can keep up with her, both in print and in the bedroom.

While I'm Away...

I have some medical things to attend to, but while I'm away, here are a couple of books I'd like to brag about...well, 3 if you count the last one (nobody commented on it - and I confess that my blog post was thrown up there at the last minute, so no worries...).

Pandemonium was the 2nd in a series I'm working on with Alexis Fleming that deals with pitching the dieties of Mount Olympus onto Earth and giving them a really great sex & love life combined. Pan was a lot of fun to write, and this one can be found at Total ebound Books! (see previous post for particulars, please)

Lex & I sold a novellal to Ellora's Cave as well, but we don't even have edits on that one yet, so can't give you a release date.

I've been involved with a wonderful group of writers from my Passionate Ink group, and we've been "on tour" the past few weeks.

Next up on the Passionate Ink Cyber tour is Shelley Munro.

Welcome to multi-published author, Shelley Munro. Shelley’s sexy books can be found at Medallion Press, New Concepts Publishing, Cerridwen, and Ellora’s Cave.

BLURB:

Pearl’s master plan to catch a rich husband—results so far…A for effort, F for success.

Justin Collet wants way more than friendship from Pearl. He craves love, laughter and hot, down-and-dirty passion. A life partner. All he needs to do is convince Pearl.

A broken relationship, a few drinks and a string of pearls.

Comforting Pearl takes a turn into carnal territory. Heat blossoms between them, fiery and consuming. Sweet kisses inflame and erotic whispers tempt. It’s all or nothing for Justin as he seduces Pearl into agreeing they’re lovers at last.

And now a few questions for Shelley…

Where do you get the inspiration for your stories?

I’d like to be a smartass and say I buy my story ideas at Walmart, but the truth is that I find inspiration everywhere. A story idea can spring from a television show I’ve watched, a newspaper article I’ve read or a book written by another author might spark a series of ideas. I’m lucky enough to do quite a bit of travel and find this a great source of ideas, especially for settings. Maybe I have a fertile imagination, but I have a continual stream of ideas and add a few brief details to an ideas folder so I can save them for when I need them.

Are you a pantzer or a plotter?

When I first started writing I used to make up things as I wrote. Now that I’m a published writer I find I need a more organized approach since editors and agents like to know how a book ends, often before I’ve finished writing it. These days I tend to be a hybrid of the two. I plot enough to know how the book ends but leave myself enough leeway so that each book remains an adventure during the writing process.

Where did you get the idea for your latest book?

Lovers at Last is part of Ellora’s Cave Gemstone series and is a pearl story. The pearls play a large part in the story and bring the hero and heroine together. I took one of my favorite plots, that of friends and lovers, added in the pearls and came up with a couple who knew each other well. The first scene popped into my head and the story came from there.

What makes a hero for you? Do you see them on the street, or are they simply in your head?

In short, my heroes come from my imagination rather than a real person. I have a liking for tall and dark heroes and usually start off with those two characteristics, although I have written a few blond heroes. Most of my heroes also seem to be on the alpha side and are heroic in the sense that they never abuse their position and bully those weaker than themselves.

What’s your writing schedule like?

I write full time and treat my writing like an office job, working set hours. I set myself a writing target for each day and also fit in promo and other writing related activities such as blogging, correspondence and maintaining my website. I think I work harder now than I ever used to!

What does your writing space look like?

In a word-messy! I do try to tidy up a little between books but while I’m writing I like to keep my reference books and notes, my dictionary and thesaurus close at hand. I also have a pile of promo related stuff on my desk and of course, I can’t get by without my calendar that lists my schedule for the month.

What advice would you give to aspiring erotic romance writers?

First of all–READ!. I can’t stress that enough. Read to analyze the market, take all the elements you enjoy and set out to write something unique that hasn’t been done before. Erotic romance isn’t for everyone and if you’re not comfortable writing it this shows in your work.

BEST OF LUCK WITH THIS ONE, SHELLEY - IT LOOKS GREAT!!!!!!!!

Buy your copy here.

Last, but not least...my latest with Ellora's Cave

http://www.ellorascave.com/

It's supposed to debut June 12th, and it is now about 45 minutes before midnight as I type this, so...

Hopefully, I won't be hooked up to IV poles too long, and I'll be able to come back with more info tomorrow or Friday.

I was supposed to get the art work in plenty of time to promo it, but...things happen. And the cover is supposed to read Sins & Redemption, a small glitch - don't have the cover for THAT either - lol. But...it's on the "coming soon" page at this moment with the correct cover (I think I can scan in a thumbprint of that one...we'll see.)

WHOO HOO
I also wasn't given the damned ISBN, so can't give that to you. I did get my zip file of the thing earlier, but rather than try pulling it from that, I'll just say IT IS SUPPOSED TO DEBUT JUNE 12th - It's part of the Oh, Yum series (older woman, younger man). And...thank you to Alexis for helping me get this thing written - she was invaluable, as always.
I'll have more info for you when I get back. :)

A Quick 30-minute Trip With Donna

7 am, fixed sausage links for The Kids, made The Girl lunch, an "everything" bagel with cream cheese and thin slices of turkey breast and smoked ham.

Sky is ominous looking, because we have more storms headed our way. I watch The Kids leave later and notice that they're headed west, which means...those little shits are going to buy cigarettes at Quick Trip. WE have ALL supposedly QUIT SMOKING. Fuckers. So I grumble and go about my business, and neighbor Donna asks if I'd like to go to the grocery store with her. Sure. I mean, I need to walk, but I've been spooked that a dark cloud would burst upon me, and I'd be drenched (or worse--struck by lightening) before I get home.

Our five-minute trek to the store starts with her cat jumping into the car. Cute, at first, right? We pet the cat, then cat goes to rear window and parks, refuses to budge.
Here we are, two grown women in a not-so-grown-up rice burner car, backing in and out of her driveway to scare the cat into jumping out of the car. Cat won't budge. Digs in, if anything. Cat from hell.
We go back and forth - and you'd have to see this car to fully appreciate the predicament. Windows won't roll up. Her car door won't full close. It has like 3 different colors if you count the primer. A Singer sewing machine has a louder (and more powerful) motor. And we're backing up five or six feet, pulling forward five or six. This goes on forever.
Donna is short and tries crawling into the back with a tree branch to spook the cat - and even that doesn't work. Finally, she says fuck it and just takes off. Cat leaps forward and wants out.

We go to the grocery store. Do our thang. Then she asks if I'd like to stop at Quick Trip for a frozen cappuccino. Sure. I go in - clerk says oh HI and that she's seen my kids this morning. Again...fuckers. You'd be proud of me, though - I did not buy cigarettes at the QT, despite knowledge that The Kids were smoking.
Didn't have to. Purchased them at the grocery store.

And in parting...something from Janet...

How to save the airlines:

Dump the male flight attendants. No one wanted them in the first place. Replace all the female flight attendants with good-looking strippers! What the hell --- They don't even serve food anymore, so what's the loss?

The strippers would at least triple the alcohol sales and get a 'party atmosphere' going in the cabin. And, of course, every businessman in this country would start flying again, hoping to see naked women.Because of the tips, female flight attendants wouldn't need a salary, thus saving even more money. I suspect tips would be so good that we could charge the women for working the plane and have them kick back 20% of the tips, including lap dances and 'special services.'

Certain religious sects of which I can't name for fear of being labeled politically incorrect would be afraid to get on the planes for fear of seeing naked women. Hijackings would come to a screeching halt, and the airline industry would see record revenues. This is definitely a win-win situation if we handle it right --- a golden opportunity to turn a liability into an asset.

And this one - LOL...

If you were around in 1919 (just before prohibition started) and came upon the following poster.........

I mean seriously, Would you quit drinking?

Rainy Weekend With Max

I always enjoy staying at the Motel Carol. For one thing, there's great conversation, she makes me coffee, and I get to see her wonderful kids. This time, however, there was an additional family member. The girls have dubbed him Max, but he's still "growing into" his name. I'm sure he'll let them know if he wishes to be called something else.

It rained this morning, and I sat on the deck out back sipping coffee, holding Max (who loves climbing up my leg as far as his hampster-like body can manage--all 11 ounces of him). I finally caved in and lifted him, and he snuggled inside my bra with only his head peeking out of my shirt.
Max is a Maltese Poodle, and I'm delighted to be Aunt Sunny to this little man. I have a feeling that he'll rule the house within a matter of hours, not days.

Already, he gets to take little trips with the family, he has a marvelous home with lots of love, and he is a well-pampered pooch.

I've put in my order/request for a painting from Shorter Child, and I've volunteered to housesit Max whenever I'm asked. The Kids (as in MY kids) are getting married in about 3 weeks, and the Motel Carol is open to me if I wish to spend a few days - lol. I may just take 'em up on the offer.

Oh...he also loves to give kisses. Make a kissy sound, and he's all about it.

Okay, more lightning sighted outside my window, so I'm ending this and shutting things down until tomorrow. Have a good week, everybody. :)
